Kitzbuhel is not only Austria’s oldest ski resort, which has been attracting lovers of the great outdoors for years. It is also the town and home to a unique casino, housed in a building that dates back to 1274. The old building has been carefully preserved. Its owners have managed to create a comfortable environment for casino-goers, without losing sight of its colour and historic value, to meet all the requirements of modern man.
Casino Kitzbuhel opened in December 1934. The Second World War and the first post-war years were a hiatus from the establishment. It resumed hosting players in 1954. During its existence the building where the casino is located has been renovated several times to meet the changing demands of visitors. The most recent renovations to date were carried out in 2006.
Casino Kitzbuhel offers gamblers a relatively small selection of slots – about fifty titles. However, this is only the best of the best. Moreover, their range: from quite democratic with very small minimum bets to a set of slots with high stakes, attracting high rollers, that is – gamblers-professionals visiting the casino to play at high or maximum stakes.
The casino also offers players an assortment of the most popular and widely played table and card games.

Kitzbühel is known not only as a resort town for ski lovers and gamblers, it is also a town with some pretty interesting sights to see in between visits to the casino. Tour operators organize junket tours in Kitzbühel – a popular pastime among gambling enthusiasts, when a player, in exchange for obligation to spend in a casino a specified amount of time and bet no less than the amount agreed in the tour operator and the host party, gets rid of the hassle associated with transportation, accommodation, and entertainment programs. These are taken care of by the tour operator and the host.
